Thanks - Glad to hear you're finding it useful. And I think I can say that this is a good to successful self-publishing: it all starts with the book. Write a GOOD Book That People Will Want to Read.

Duh, right? Well, judging from all the dreck that gets written and cluelessly self-published, maybe it’s not so obvious. But, write an excellent book on a subject people have an interest in, and you’ve just made your ongoing marketing tasks exponentially easier. Why? Because you’ll harness the power of thousands of salespeople – i.e., your happy readers – who’re delighted to spread the word.

I worked very very hard to make my books the best they could possibly be, with all the how-to details that someone might ever want to know, and because I did so, I don’t have to work nearly so hard to keep them selling – because plenty of others help me out.

And one way to ensure that you do include everything a reader needs to know to follow your path is to write the book as
One Big Case Study. Of course, that means you have to have walked that path your self, which in my case, I did.

Enjoy the rest of it!

Sounds obvious, but lalways nice to hear. Yes,

I'm in the process of reading this book myself and it really gives authors a reason to consider self-publishing. It has loads of useful information.

Thanks for the review.

Thanks for the nice review of my book and for taking the time to read it! Glad you enjoyed it.

Glad to be her eon Amateur de Livre! Hope to generate a lively discussion on the subject of self-publishing. The subject is a hot one these days as more and more authors are starting to realize, as outlined above, how lacking the conventional publishing model really is - in terms of royalties, timetable, rights, and the creative process.

Given the prevailing paradigm, many are understandably saying, hey, if I’m going to have to do most of the work myself anyway, I might as well be making most of the money!

I wish you all the best on your own self-publishing journeys. Know that there are plenty of tools out there (including a few of my own at http://www.wellfedsp.com).
