Hi Beanie,

Yesterday was our 8th wedding anniversary and because we were going to have a pretty busy week and were going to have Andy all weekend we decided to have a “fun” day with you and your sister.
We started out by taking you to Subway for supper. We don’t normally go there but it was pretty warm yesterday and we thought you might like a nice sub sandwich. You really did, we got you a ham sub, apple slices, and milk. You and Grace both just love to drink out of straws, we just have to make sure that you don’t spill – easier said than done sometimes.
Then we decided to take the two of you to the lake. I don’t know if you have ever been in the lake so it was going to be a new experience. The water was COLD but was pretty shallow and there wasn’t too far to walk out and then there was a sandbar. Once we got in you both had a blast. Unfortunately, at one point you thought you would try running and actually fell into the water, brrrrrrr! Your face didn’t go in though, and after a few tears you were up and running again. You both actually really enjoyed drawing in the sand down by the water because you could really see what you were drawing. I should have taken more pictures of that but the camera was already full at that point.
So, after we took you to take an “outdoor” shower and put a new pullup and outfit on the 2 of you we thought we would take you over to Neshotah park and let you play for a little bit. Both of you get such a kick out of the curly slide but don’t ever really want to play on the other things. I don’t care what you play on, it is just so much fun to watch you both have such a good time. I see the time flying by and that is why I wanted to create this blog because I can add pictures and because I am on the computer every day it is easier for me to write this way.
Our last stop for the night was to Dairy Queen for some ice cream. There was no way I was up for getting you an ice cream cone, there is only so much mess I can deal with in a 2 hour time span. So, we ordered 2 banana splits. This is one of your Dad’s favorites but I don’t really like it. So, we put one in front of Grace and you and Daddy started to share yours. Well, of course Grace only ate a little bit of hers but you ate a lot! Daddy ended up finishing what was left but really there wasn’t that much left. You are getting so tall and really must be going through a growth spurt because you have been eating even more than normal. I love watching how you both change but miss my little baby.
You also have had a terrible temper lately (I don’t know where you get that from, wink). If you have an outfit on that you don’t want to wear you actually throw a temper tantrum. You have taken to kicking and hitting if something doesn’t go your way. I am trying my best to deal with it but I don’t have a lot of patience when you act like this. Grace never went through this stage but it is just one more difference between the two of you.
You still are the sweetest little girl though, when you want to be, and love to give hugs and kisses. You even blew a kiss to Shannon today when she left for work. You do kisses whenever you say goodbye to anyone and you also have taken to saying thank you – like when we left Dairy Queen last night you said thank you. A little lady.
I love you Beans and promise to write more soon!

Down to the lake we go

Hi Roni,

We had such a fun day yesterday! It was our 8th wedding anniversary and since we were going to have a pretty busy week, and have Andy all weekend we decided to do something yesterday as a family. It was a pretty hot and humid day so we thought we would take you down to the lake. It has been awhile since we have been down there and you don’t really remember it too much.

We took you both to Subway for supper. We don’t usually go here, but because of the weather we wanted something cool to eat. You would eat ham or bologna every day if I let you, so we ordered you and your sister each a kids ham sub, apple slices, and white milk. You initially ate the sandwich in the regular way, but before it was all said and done you had pulled off the ham and the pickles and ate them that way.

After Subway it was off to the beach. We decided to take you guys to the beach in TR because it is MUCH nicer than the one in Manitowoc. So, we put on your suits and away we went. It was a pretty long stretch of beach so you both took off running for the water (see pics). The water was pretty cold, but it was neat because it was shallow for quite a ways and then there was a sandbar that was only up to our ankles. So, I went out first and took some pictures. It took you a little bit before you were willing to come out there because the water was cold, but you finally did. You were having such a good time and then it happened. You decided to take off running in the water and forgot that you were on the sandbar so you started to run to shore and down you went in the water (it wasn’t that deep). Your face and everything went into the water – you only cried a little bit – I think you were just a little scared. But, you didn’t want to stay in the water anymore at that point. So, you and your sister decided to draw in the sand right on the waters edge – you got a kick out of that!

After we were done at the beach we took you over to Neshotah park to play. We try to encourage you and Ella both to go down all the different slides and play on all of the different toys but you REALLY want to go down the curly slide. Unfortunately there was no way for you to climb up to it (there was a ladder but it was for bigger kids). So either daddy or I had to lift you up so you could slide down. Over, and over, and over again. I would have taken pictures but the camera was full from down at the lake.

When we got done at the park it was off for a treat – thanks to Daddy. He wanted to take you both to Dairy Queen to get you some ice cream (eef reef). We weren’t sure what to get you two but I knew that I wasn’t up to trying to clean you both up after eating a cone, so we got 2 banana splits – those are Dad’s favorites. So, we put one in front of you and Daddy and Ella started to share one. You ate a decent amount, but really just wanted the fruit and a little bit of ice cream. You just love fruit. Your sister on the other hand ate quite a bit of ice cream AND fruit. Daddy finished what you two didn’t eat but there wasn’t that much left.

Today is really hot again, so we did go outside this morning but that might be it for the day. It is supposed to be a high near 90 with high humidity so we will probably just hang out inside today, unless we go out in the pool for a little bit. I promise to write more soon little one. I love you supery, dupery, much!

Hi Beanie,

I had to add these pictures – they were taken a few days ago. We decided to go outside and go in our new swimming pool for the first time. You started off in your Nemo suit which is so cute on you (see first pic). You are such a photogenic little girl – I was going to say baby but you aren’t a baby anymore. You are truly a little girl and are quite possibly the most loving little girl in the world. Your new favorite thing to do is to pretend to sneeze. Now I have to pretend to sneeze as well and then you wipe my nose with your blanket. You constantly cuddle with me and daddy, and then pat our back and say “I missed you or I love you”. You obviously can also be sassy but for the most part you just want to give love.

You also love to burp and fart (wonder where you get that from)! When you do either you say “that’s nasty, and awful, and gross”. You really crack me up. You may notice that in the pictures above you start out in the Nemo suit and ended up in the flourescent green striped suit. That is because every time I put you in a swimming suit you decide that is the time to poop. Go figure.

Michelle and the boys stopped for a visit last night and Mitchell gets such a kick out of you. He said that we should video you for America’s Funniest Home videos. You will be excited today too because today is the day that all of the trucks come – the Pepsi truck, 7Up truck, and all of the beer trucks. You love trucks. Last night when we went for our walk one of the semis that was driving by even honked their horn for us. Well, I have to go and write to “Hanna” now (what you sometimes call Grace). I love you little one, and promise to take more pictures and write more soon.

You goofy little girl! I love the last pic on here – I asked you to stick your tongue out and this is what I got! I added a picture of you blowing bubbles. You and your sister both love to do this and thankfully we have a bubble bucket with 4 wands so there usually isn’t too much fighting. This is the first day that the 2 of you actually went into the pool for a little bit. The water was still a little cold but it has been unseasonably warm out so you didn’t mind too much. But it rained the other night so now we have to use the filter on it this weekend.

We are not going to follow our normal Saturday routine tomorrow. Hopefully you won’t be too upset. Normally every Saturday in summer we get up, go out for breakfast, and then go to some rummage sales. We have decided that tomorrow we will still go out to eat but then we are going to take a walk down to the Farmer’s Market. I don’t know what is in season yet but we will find out.
You were up at 5:15 this morning and have only left the couch to eat breakfast, which you hardly ate anything. That seems to go in spurts for you too – unless it is something that you really love. The other night I made ring bologna and I swear you at more than I did. Cheesy eggs is the same thing, or ham. You just love this stuff.
You are such a little lady and I can’t believe how independent you are. I know that this is a good thing but wish you needed me more sometimes. You are waiting for tomorrow also because I told you you could ride your bike around the block when daddy was home. You don’t forget anything so there will be no getting out of that one. I love you sweetie!

Hi Roni!

Hi Roni,

You and Ella are both taking your naps right now. You fell asleep on the way home from our visit from Nana and Papa. We had a really nice time there and are going to try and get there once a week. Our weekends are pretty hectic so sometimes it gets hard to get there then. Actually I like this better because we are the only ones there and we don’t have to fight to get their attention.

We brought Nana some of her all time favorites – peanut butter cookies. You and Ella wanted to eat a bunch of them even though we have a TON of them here at home. Nana and Papa would never say no to either of you – they get such a kick out of you guys.

We don’t have any plans for tonight, but maybe the pool will be warm enough for you and Ella to go in it today. We’ll have to see after Daddy gets home. Otherwise we will just go hang out and play in the sandbox and blow bubbles – two of your all time favorites. You also started to pedal your bike finally so you really get a kick out of hopping on it and pedaling away. You are both getting so big, but I seem to notice it more with you, probably because you are just a little more independent. I know Ella will be like that in a year and even though it is wonderful to watch you grow and not depend on me, sometimes I wish you depended on me just a little more. I love you little one and will write soon!
