Where does the time go? It has been WEEKS since I have written and I apologize. It has been a pretty busy month. For the past 32 years or so Nana and Papa, and now RJ rent a cottage the week of the 4th of July on Wilke Lake. We decided to go out for a few days this year. Well, here’s what happened. We got your suit on and headed down to the pier. Annalise was sitting on the edge of the pier dangling her legs in the water. You sat down next to her but when you tried to dangle your feet in you were to short. When you tried to reach you fell in and went under. The water was pretty shallow but for some reason you didn’t stand up! We got you out of the water and you cried a little.
But, you got over it pretty quick as you can see by this picture. The only bad thing is you wouldn’t go into the water and play after this. You would sit in the innertube, go in the paddleboat, things like that. But you would not go out into the water, and neither would your sister for that matter. But, you were telling everone how you went Ploop, into the water and wasn’t that funny? It’s funny because I don’t think you were really scared….you are a goofy little kid. In fall we are going to sign you and your sister up for swimming at the Y because I want to make sure you both know how to swim.
We still had a good time at the cottage. You played with the kids, loved playing in the tent. You also gathered a rock collection with Dilly’s help. They are still up in your room – I am not too sure what to do with them but I know that I can in no way get rid of them. Uncle Jun also tried to catch a frog for you to bring home, but didn’t have any luck. I swear he would do just about anything for you if you asked him. You sure have him wrapped around your finger!
After the cottage on the 4th, we decided to take you and Beans down to the fireworks. It was a pretty busy day but you both still had so much energy. We walked down and decided to watch them by the library. You were really excited in the very beginning but it got pretty late and you and your sister both asked to go home. It was such a long day and you were both exhausted so home we came. And you both CRASHED!
Other than that, not too much else is new. Bernice is up for 2 1/2 weeks and came over for a fry out on Sunday. I really forgot how much I love her and have really missed her. You were tired and got a little cranky later, but you have really taken to Adam (Attic). Maybe that’s because he brought you candy the last time he came over:)
Well, honey it is time to go for now. I promise not to have it be so long in between times that I write. I love you my little bed piglet (instead of bed hog).

My little darling beans! Wow, I can’t believe that it has been this long since I have written to you. We have had a pretty busy month. Every year for the past 32 or 33 years Nana and Papa, and now RJ have rented a cottage on Wilke Lake. We always go out a few days because we knew that you guys would really enjoy it. Well, for some reason neither one of you would go in the water! I forced you at times to go in but you really didn’t like it, lol! We put you on Amy’s Jet Ski and at least you sat on there long enough for us to get a pic of you.
This is one of Ahma’s favorite pictures of you. Of course you just love the camera and will always say cheese whenever we pull it out. The weather was pretty decent for us this year and you both did love the boat parade that goes through on 4th of July. That’s because people love to throw bags of candy and who doesn’t love candy? So, all in all it was a good time at the cottage but maybe next year we can actually get you guys in the water!
After the cottage on the 4th we decided to take you both down to the fireworks. You have never been before and we weren’t sure how you or your sister would react. We walked down and found a spot by the lake. You both really enjoyed them but were exhausted from the busy day so we didn’t stay for them all. You both fell asleep on the walk home but it was still nice to get you down there and let you see them for the first time.
Other than that not too much is new. This picture was taken on the morning of one of our regular Saturday activities. Usually every Saturday morning (in the summer at least) we go out for breakfast, to the farmer’s market, to some rummage sales, and then do the grocery shopping for the week. Your new favorite thing to do is “backpack shoulders”. That is what you call it when someone puts you on their shoulders. But, you have gotten quite a terrible temper lately and have taken to hitting, throwing things, screaming, and just being sassy. I know that you are just going through the terrible twos, but you are much worse than your sister was at this age. You must get your temper from me – I know you will grow out of it and thankfully Grace is pretty good natured so when you hit her and usually doesn’t fight back. I just don’t want you to be such a little brute all the time.
We have also started having some more company lately. This Sunday we had a group of people over and I got to see one of my favorite people in the whole world, Bernice. That is who is holding you in the pic on the left. She lives in Illinois and is your sister Jenny’s best friend. Unfortunately when she does come up to visit she is usually strapped for time so we don’t always get to see her. It was so great that she stopped and also that you climbed up into her lap. She just has the greatest personality and is a “motherly” type. Hopefully you will get to know her better the older that you get.
Well, I suppose I will close for now. I promise not to take so long in writing. There are so many things that happen and I need to write them down so I don’t forget. Love you chubudu!
